Welcome to my Kalphite Queen Guide. Please note that this is my guide and that there may be other better options available.
Background information:
The Kalphite is one monster who used to be killed often by mid to high level players in search of great money making. The Kalphite Queen is one of the two monsters in Runescape to drop the Dragon Chain Body (the other being the Dust Devil). Most players now do not bother with this monster due to the dramatic drop in the Dragon Chain Bodies price.
The Kalphite Queen level 333 is located at the very end of the Kalphite Lair located in the desert. Directly West of Shanty Pass after you pass through. One Rope is required to enter the lair. She has two forms as you are fighting. The first form protects from both range and mage forcing players to melee her. The second form protects from melee making this form hard to defeat.
Gear and Supplies:
This is the basic setup I recommend for people to use since you will be using melee the whole time. For each equipment spot I will list the items to use from best to worse keep in mind the better stuff you can use the more likely you will be to defeat this foe.
Armor: Verac’s Full Set. This is the best I have found to use due to the set’s special effect – the ability to ignore defense.
Necklace: Fury/Glory/strength
Cape: Soul Wars/Firecape/skill cape/Obby cape
Special Weapon (used for the Special Attack bar): Armadyl Godsword/Dragon Claws/Dragon Dagger/Dragon Hally
Gloves: Barrows Gloves, Dragon Gloves, Combat Bracelet
Boots: Dragon boots/Bandos Boots/Rune Boots/Climbing Boots
Ring: Berserker ring, Warrior’s ring, Ring of Wealth, Ring of Life
Backpack Breakdown:
Verac’s Flail: used for second form or after Special Attack bar use
Shanty Passes: used to get out into the desert to proceed to the Kalphite Lair.
TIP: go out of the pass drop a piece of food go back in bank grab a new piece of food. Go through the pass once more making a backpack space and pick up the piece of food you dropped.
Ropes: One needed to actually enter the lair and the second to get to the Kalphite Queen herself.
Food: You want to use High end Fish like Rocktails, Manta Rays, Sea Turtle, or Shark. I wouldn’t advise anything lower do to her high hits.
One click teleport: anything will work here just simply a quick way to get out if you are in trouble. House tabs or tabs close to banks are popular choice.
Potions: A full Super set or Extreme set all the help you can get to kill her at a fast rate.
Super Anti-poison monsters in the room will poison you and the damage will add up quickly – drinking before entering her lair can save you effort later since it lasts for 5 minutes.
Super Restore or Prayer Potion: To keep up your prayer to so you will not die!
Also not shown in the picture you may want to bring any familiar that can carry more food for you such as a terrorbird, war tortoise, or pak yak. Fill it up so that you can take from it during the fight.
The Fight:
Before entering the lair you want to sip each of your potions. Make sure you have your special weapon equipped and proceed to use the rope on the entrance to the Kalphite Queens lair. Activate Protect Magic or deflect Magic Prayer, Protect item, Turmoil or Piety. Rush in and look for the queen. Typically she is located at the other end from where you entered. Keep an eye on your life points and your prayer as they both can go down really fast.
If all goes well in the end you will have killed the queen and have hopefully gotten the your very own Dragon Chain Body!
